Duo Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Cell Phones In Old City

By Justin Udo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A man and woman accused of running a cell phone stealing operation at the Bourse building in Old City Philadelphia are in police custody after business owners stopped them in their tracks.

Bayram runs a gyro shop out of the Bourse building.

He says last week, the pair stole his cell phone.

"When I turned my back, he stole it. He grabbed it and I saw and I ran after him and I couldn't find him that day," he said.

Bayram says the man and the woman have targeted several other business owners in the building numerous times.

"They stole two more phones from two other store owners, that have been found today," he said.

But after allegedly stealing two cell phones on Tuesday, they were caught, and the woman was found with phones hidden in the nether regions of her pants.

The owners called police and the duo was arrested and taken into custody.
