Suspect Sought In Sex Assault and Carjack Attempt in Olney

By Molly Daly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police have released a sketch of a young man they say jumped into a woman's car in the Olney section of the city and assaulted her at gunpoint before she managed to escape.

It happened just before 8am last Thursday morning in the 1900 block of Conlyn Street.

Police say the 31-year-old woman was getting into her vehicle when a young man got into the passenger side brandishing a chrome semi-automatic handgun, and ordered her to drive away.

According to police, the man told the victim he was going to sexually assault her, tugging at her clothing as he talked.

At Chew Avenue and Washington Lane, the woman bolted from the car and flagged down a Septa bus.

The suspect is described as a thin, clean-shaven, light-complected black male, 19 to 22 years old, 5'7" to 5'10" inches tall, weighing between 150 and 170 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Philadelphia Police Department.
