Police: Man Found Shot In Head Near Community Center In Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Del., (CBS) – Police say a 19-year-old man was shot dead in Wilmington Sunday night.

Wilmington police responded shortly before 7 p.m. to the 700 block of W. 5th Street after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting.

Police say officers found the 19-year-old victim lying on the south end of the Hicks Anderson Community Center parking lot with a gunshot wound to the head.

Officers administered first aid and CPR.  Medics arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

There is no word on a suspect or motive at this time.

Police are withholding the victim's name pending notification of family.

The incident remains under investigation.
