UPDATE: 1 Hospitalized In Police-Involved Shooting In Chester

CHESTER, Pa., (CBS) – Authorities in Chester, Delaware County say officers had to shoot a man who they say tried to run an officer over.

It happened around 4 p.m. when officers responded to the 400 block of Hayes Street for reports of drug activity.

There, police say 26-year-old Steffan Trader was inside of his car and wouldn't listen to officers. Authorities say Trader was trying to flee and he sped up towards an officer in an effort to run him over.

Police say the officers shot Trader multiple times. He was taken to the hospital and was arrested. Trader is charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and drug offenses.

No officers were injured.
