Phillies Call Up Third Baseman Asche
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Phillies will call up third base prospect Cody Asche from AAA Lehigh Valley.
The Phillies sent down outfielder Steven Susdorf to make room for Asche.
Rumors have persisted that the Phillies are looking to trade third baseman Michael Young, but Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports that Young will only approve a trade to the Texas Rangers.
Asche is hitting .295 with 15 home runs and 68 RBIs in 104 games for the IronPigs so far this season.
