American Airlines Flights Resume After Power Problems At Phila. Airport

By Al Novack

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Last night's record rainfall caused more trouble for Philadelphia International Airport this morning.

But hours after the electrical power went off at the airport's terminal A-East, arriving passengers were still being forced to run a maze of corridors to simply exit the building to the parking garage.

Many American Airlines flights had to be rescheduled because of the power outage at the terminal.  Travelers are urged to check their flight status with their airline.

Last night, terminal A-East was without power until crews could get backup generators working (see related story).  Power was mostly restored some time around 10pm, but there were residual problems this morning.  In some cases, electrically operated doors failed to operate, forcing passengers coming into the arrivals area to walk a circuitous route to another section in order to be able to get to the parking garage.
