UK-Based Company Wants Into Atlantic City Casinos

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) -- A British online gambling company says it wants to buy or build an Atlantic City casino so it can offer online betting in the United States.

London-based 2UP Gaming PLC announced its intentions in a news release Thursday.

The company, which has its operational office in West Melbourne, Australia, says an Asian investment group has agreed to put $330 million into the effort.

The investment group is not identified in the release, and the company does not specify a casino it would like to buy.

Under New Jersey law, casinos with a physical presence in Atlantic City can operate online gambling operations.
