PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Mike and Ike Show on 94WIP asked the fans of Philadelphia an intriguing poll question on the Audio Roadshow app on Wednesday: "Which was the best year in Philadelphia sports history?"
The choices were:
1973-74 when the Flyers won their first Stanley Cup
1980 when the Phillies won the World Series and all four Philly sports team reached their respective championship
1983 when the Sixers won the NBA Championship (and the Phillies were in the World Series)
2008 when the Phillies won their second World Series
'Other' which includes 1960 when the Eagles won the championship and 1967 when the Sixers on the NBA Championship, among successful other years
49% of fans vote for 1980 as the best year in Philadelphia sports history, with 2008 coming in second place (full results here).
