Man Charged In 'Craigslist Ad Murder' Faces More Charges In Similar Robberies

By Justin Udo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The man who's being charged with murder, after allegedly luring and killing a New Jersey man by using Craigslist is now facing more charges related to his Craigslist activity.

Thomas Coffee, 23, of Willow Grove, is in jail awaiting trial for the shooting death of Daniel Cooke, 27, of Williamstown (see previous story).

The murder took place nearly a month ago in North Philadelphia, after authorities say Coffee advertised an ATV for sale on Craigslist.

And when Cooke came to look at the ATV, Coffee lured him down the street and shot him in the face.

While being held in jail without bail, Coffee has been charged with three other robberies.

Two of them are in fact Craigslist robberies.

"It is similar to fashion that was used in the case where Mr. Cooke was murdered," said Philadelphia assistant district attorney Nick Lierman.

Coffee is set to be back in court later this week and his murder case is due to start in August.
