Happy Hour And Charity Drive Aims To Help Support Pets Of Older Philadelphians

By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Pet food and toys will be collected at a special happy hour event in Center City on Thursday to help support animals of isolated older Philadelphians.

GenPhilly is a network of young professionals who connect with older adults through their work and personal lives. The third annual "Pet-Tastic" happy hour and pet food and toy drive will held Thursday at Ladder 15 in the 1500 block of Sansom Street in Center City from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Brian Gralnick is the vice chair of GenPhilly.

"If you are an elderly person and you are struggling between paying for food and medicine, you are likely struggling to put food on your pet's dinner bowl and we are trying to make life a little bit happier for those pets and for those seniors," said Gralnick.
