Slippery Rock Student Charged With Child Porn

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (AP) -- A Pennsylvania college student has been jailed on charges that he possessed and shared child pornography on his laptop computer.

Online court records don't list an attorney for the Slippery Rock University student in question, 22-year-old Josiah Krammes.

He faces a preliminary hearing Aug. 14 on charges filed by the state attorney general's office that grew out of updated software that lets investigators scan peer-to-peer file-sharing networks to find people who share child pornography online.

Krammes faces 51 counts that he possessed child pornography or illegally contacted children online.

Krammes is from Pine Grove, Schuylkill County in eastern Pennsylvania. He's being held in the Butler County Prison, about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh.
