Despite Heat, Some Still Maintain Sense Of Humor

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – After an endless string of long hot days have all of us feeling a little punchy, the heat wave has not affected our sense of humor!

KYW Newsradio collected some heat related jokes from folks that will hopefully put a smile on your face.

Jeff is visiting Philadelphia from the Windy City and he says “it was 102 degrees temperature and 107 heat index in Chicago.”

Reporter: “So we have you to blame for this weather!”

Jeff: “Oh no, I think this came straight from Texas. We can blame Texas for sure!”

He’s just kidding of course.

His advice for those thinking about frying an egg on the sidewalk is “pizza cooks inside the car which is a little known Chicago tradition of just piling on the ingredients, leaving it on the dashboard and letting it rip.”

Reporter: “That’s the secret to deep dish pizza?”

Jeff: “Deep dish pizza. It’s a little messy to eat, but that is what our napkins are for!”

Eight-year-old Evan says, “just go home and jump in a pool or something!”

Just a reminder we are not recommending the use of your hot car as an oven!
