Patient Struck By Stray Bullet Fired Into Crozer-Chester Medical Center

UPLAND, Pa. (CBS) -- A female patient was injured after she was struck by a stray bullet while she was lying in her hospital bed in Delaware County.

The incident happened shortly before midnight Monday at the Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pa.

Investigators say a shot was fired from outside the hospital and the bullet traveled through a first-floor window and into the hospital, striking an unidentified female patient who was in her hospital bed.

The victim was struck in the abdomen and is listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made.

Detectives are currently looking at surveillance video to aid in their investigation.

The incident remains under investigation.
