Cherry Hill Mall Kicks Off First Ever Restaurant Week

By Mike Dougherty

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) - Restaurant week in Philadelphia draws thousands of diners to eateries they may not normally try. The Cherry Hill Mall is borrowing that idea in hopes of attracting some extra visitors during the slow summer season.

It begins Sunday and runs through July 20th and mall officials are hoping for a boost in business.

This is the brain child of marketing director Lisa Wolstromer and her staff.

"Restaurant week isn't really a unique idea, but it is unique to have a mall specific restaurant week and the only restaurants participating in this are restaurants located at Cherry Hill Mall," she said.

There are nine of them, so you still have plenty of options. One is The Capital Grille, where managing partner Diane Langler immediately signed on to participate. She views this as a challenge to knock your socks off.

"We have to be the best. We want them to come back; we want them to come see us again. And we are going to blow everyone away," she said.

Langler says there are prefix three and four course menus for lunch and dinner featuring some of their most popular dishes.

Wolstromer adds she hopes to make restaurant week at the mall an annual event.

"It's already going to be in the works, so probably next July again."
