State Police: Shots Fired At Car On Schuylkill Expressway

By Tim Jimenez

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Pennsylvania State police say, in a fit of road rage, someone fired shots at another car on the Schuylkill Expressway Wednesday night. Now the search is on for the shooter.

Pennsylvania State Police Cpl. Gerard McShea says it was around 10:30 at night Wednesday, on the Schuylkill Westbound between Montgomery Avenue and Route 1. McShea says a driver in his early 20s tells them he may have cut off another car, which then sped up towards him.

"Next thing he knew, he thought he heard up to three gunshots. His rear windshield busted out and his front windshield cracked," said McShea.

Shots fired at the victim and McShea is amazed he came away unscathed.

"Where the bullet hit the front windshield, it's hard to believe that it didn't hit him," said McShea.

And he didn't even stop. Scared, he drove to his police department in Montgomery County, who directed him to state police and they're now looking for the shooter. Police have not released information on a car or person they're looking for but McShea says they're following up on leads and anyone who may have seen or heard something is asked to call them.
