Police Investigating Copper Theft From Elementary School In Montgomery County

LANSDALE, Pa. (CBS) – Police in Montgomery County are asking for the public's assistance in finding those responsible for a burglary at an elementary school.

According to Towamencin Township Police, ten 20-foot long copper pipes, 18 brass ball valves, 100 copper fittings and five reels of 2,500 foot solid copper wire was taken from Inglewood Elementary School, located at 1313 Allentown Road in Lansdale.

Police say entry was gained through an area of the school that was under construction and they believe the incident may have occurred between 3 p.m. July 4th and 6 a.m. July 5th.

Authorities say the value of the copper wire reels is $1,200. The value of the other stolen items is still being determined.
