Crews Investigating Possible Explosive Device In Camden

CAMDEN, NJ (CBS) – Officials say Camden County police officers, along with the Camden Fire Department and Camden County Sheriff's Office bomb squad, responded to a call from the Camden Rescue Mission on South Broadway for what appeared to be a grenade inside a donation box.

The area was temporarily evacuated and South Broadway was closed between Jackson and Van Hook Streets.

Crews removed the grenade and will investigate to determine whether or not it is a functioning explosive before disposing of it.

The incident remains under investigation.
