Man Stabbed During Dispute At Banquet Hall In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A security guard has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed a man during an argument inside a banquet hall in Germantown.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Saturday inside Temptations Banquet Hall in the 200 block of West Chelten Avenue.

Police say a 48-year-old man became involved in a verbal dispute with a 52-year-old security guard after the guard told a photographer to close up for the night.

Authorities say the security guard pushed the victim, walked away, and then returned a few minutes later with a knife in his hand.

The security guard allegedly began swinging the knife at the victim, stabbing him once in the stomach.

Police say a fight ensued between the two men, and the security guard was knocked unconscious.

Officials say both men were taken to Einstein Hospital. The victim was treated and released.

The suspect was arrested and is in stable condition.
