Man Surrenders After Four-Hour Standoff With Police In Del.

WYOMING, Del. (CBS) – A man who barricaded himself inside a house during a four-hour standoff with police has been taken into custody.

The incident began around 12:20 p.m. in Wyoming, Del. Police say they received a call about an armed male who was threatening to hurt himself.

Upon the officers' arrival, the subject, who had been outside at the time, ran back into the house and barricaded himself inside.

The 31-year-old man was eventually persuaded to surrender to police around 4:20 p.m.

Police say residents in the area were evacuated as a precaution, but they will be allowed back inside their homes within a half-hour.
