Positively Philadelphia: Delaware Riverfront Memorials

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- You may have passed by Philadelphia's Delaware River waterfront memorials and not really noticed how truly spectacular they are.
But now you can take what's called the Honor, Sacrifice, and Freedom Tour.
"The whole concept behind this was to raise awareness," says Terry Williamson, president of the Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund. "These are really hidden treasures and, frankly, a lot of people don't know they even exist.
-----
"The tours include not just the Vietnam Veterans Memorial but also the Korean War Memorial, the Irish Memorial, that beautiful memorial on Front Street..."
----
And there's more.
"The Scottish Memorial; the Immigration Memorial -- that's relatively new; the Columbus memorial..."
And you can get a guided tour.
"Well, right now, through the Independence Seaport Museum, people can take an organized tour. It includes reduced admission to the USS Olympia and the Becuna, the World War II submarine, as well."
And soon there will be a map so you can explore at your own pace.
"In early July, we'll have a map where people can take a self-guided walking tour. This is brand new," Williamson tells Positively Philadelphia.

And, for this week, that's "Positively Philadelphia!"
