ShopRite Issues Recall Of Beef Product At Philadelphia Branch

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A local ShopRite is recalling its store-made boneless beef round cube steak.

ShopRite released a statement saying the branch, located at 3745 Aramingo Avenue in Philadelphia, has recalled the beef product because it may contain small pieces of metal from the meat-cutting machinery.

The boneless beef round cube steak products being recalled have a sell by date of June 18 or 19, 2013.

Officials say no other product has been affected by this recall and this is an isolated incident at the Aramingo Avenue branch only.

"We are advising customers who purchased this product at the ShopRite of Aramingo Avenue to return it for an immediate refund or replacement," stated ShopRite spokesperson Karen Meleta.

No injuries have been reported.
