Soul Look To Turn Off Power In Pittsburgh

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Philadelphia Soul will look to make it four wins in five games on Saturday night as they travel out to Pittsburgh to battle the Power.

The Soul are now 6-5 after pulling one out last week, rallying from 14-points down in the second half to beat the New Orleans VooDoo, 65-56.

"It's kind of just opposite of what we've been doing on some of those close games, we've been losing them at the end," Soul head coach Clint Dolezel tells KYW Newsradio. "We finally did it the right way and came out on top."

This is the second match-up between these two cross-state rivals, the 3-8 Power pulled an upset in the first, winning 53-48 in South Philadelphia back on May 11th. Dolezel says his squad is quite aware they let that one slip away.

"No question," Dolezel says. "We came out actually pretty hot in that game and just kind of fizzled. We made some mistakes offensively, we had some breaks go against us defensively. Didn't get it done when we needed to, and still had a great opportunity to win the football game."

While it has been a struggle for the Power in 2013 when it comes to wins and losses, one thing they have done pretty well is stop the other guys. They are the #2 defense in they Arena Football League.

"They've got a veteran crew in the secondary," Dolezel says. "The pass rush is more than adequate. They just do a lot of mixing up coverages, they try to confuse quarterbacks and a lot of times it works."

The Soul and the Power will kick-off at 7:00pm on Saturday night.
