Life Terms For Man Who Killed Friend, Friend's Mom In Hammonton Home

MAYS LANDING, N.J. (AP) — Patrick Latko of Wenonah will have to serve more than 126 years in prison before he becomes eligible for parole under the sentence imposed Monday.

The 34-year-old Latko was also convicted on weapons charges in the November 2011 stabbing deaths of 29-year-old Ryan Patterson and Patterson's 64-year-old mother, Diana.

Ryan Patterson was stabbed more than 20 times and his mom was stabbed more than 10 times during an attack inside their Hammonton home. Atlantic County prosecutors say Latko was jealous of Ryan Patterson because he was spending time with his ex-girlfriend.

Ryan Paterson was a well-known rider on the South Jersey amateur motocross circuit.
