'Kisses For Kyle' Fundraiser This Weekend

By Brad Segall

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) - Everyday life can be a real struggle for local families battling childhood cancer but a Montgomery County non-profit organization raises money to help make it a little easier.

The cost of medical care can be extremely expensive, so the Kisses For Kyle Foundation generates money that helps families pay their rent, utilities and car payments. Their big fundraiser is tomorrow from noon until 6 p.m. at Willow Grove Day Camp in Willow Grove, a fun fest featuring food tastings, carnival games, entertainment and plenty of activities for kids.

Founder Sharon Snyder says it's a chance for people to give back. "It's always a little emotional but in a good way. Everyone leaves feeling so very peaceful, a little teary-eyed but in a very good way."

It's also a chance she says for their families to just kick back for a day and relax. The Foundation is named for Sharon's son Kyle, who passed away about 15 years ago at the age of two after being diagnosed with Leukemia. There's more information about the event at their website KissesForKyle.org.
