Man Arrested After Firing Shots At Stepdaughter, Police In North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police say they arrested an intoxicated man who was firing shots at his stepdaughter and then officers in North Philadelphia.

The incident happened around 1 a.m. Saturday in a home along the 900 block of West Silver Street. A woman was involved with a physical altercation with her stepfather and ran outside of the house. That's when, police say, she heard a gunshot from inside the home. Authorities say her step father then pointed a gun at her and fired a shot. She was not struck and ran to a neighbor's house where she called police. As she was running there, police say, she was shot at again without being hit.

Authorities says when officers arrived they were met by the suspect at the door. Police say he fired shots through the closed door, between the officers, who then ran for cover.

Police say the suspect then surrendered and was arrested.

There were no injuries and police say they also recovered a knife.
