Woman Attacked By Pit Bull In Belmont

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A 21-year-old woman suffered arm and leg lacerations after she was attacked by her pit bull in Belmont Wednesday night.

The incident happened at about 5:30 p.m. on the 4200 block of Ogden Street.

Philadelphia Police say the woman went to let her pit bull out into the backyard when the dog started attacking her.

The mother of the woman tried hitting the dog away with a frying pan, but was unsuccessful.

Police responded and fired 11 shots at the pit bull, killing the dog.

The victim was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with lacerations to the right arm and leg.
