Police In Montgomery County Investigate Possible Attempted Child Luring

UPPER GWYNEDD TWP., Pa. (CBS) – Police in Upper Gwynedd are investigating a possible attempted child luring that occurred Thursday.

The incident happened around 8:10 p.m. near the intersection of Sumneytown Pike and Beaver Street.

According to police, a man called out to a 14-year-old girl while she was walking toward Beaver Street from Parkside Place.

Allegedly, the suspect attempted to engage the teen in conversation, first saying "Hey little girl I want to talk to you," and then asking her for her name and where she was going.

Police say the girl began walking faster as the male tried to keep pace with her, before taking off her shoes and running across Sumneytown Pike.

The suspect has been described as a 5-foot-10, skinny white male in his 40's with no facial hair except a mustache. He has brown hair with a cut similar to a mullet and he was wearing a tan collared short-sleeve shirt, khaki shorts and white shoes.

Police say the minor described his mannerisms as being "a little off."

Anyone with information is asked to call 215-699-5861.
