Fugitive Wanted For 2 Pa. Shootings Caught In Western NY

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a Pennsylvania man wanted in connection with the shooting of two people in Philadelphia last year has been caught in western New York.

U.S. Marshals tell local media outlets that 19-year-old Tymere Jones of Philadelphia was taken into custody Wednesday morning as he walked a dog on a street in Rochester. Officials say Jones is among the Philadelphia Police Department's most wanted fugitives.

He's accused of shooting a man during an armed robbery in September 2011 and shooting a woman as she fought with another woman in August 2012. Both victims survived.

Rochester police were tipped off by Philadelphia police about Jones' location.

He's charged as a fugitive from justice and is being held in a Rochester jail. Jones is expected to be extradited to Pennsylvania this month.
