By Al-Qumar Atkins, Tim Jimenez

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police say they have charged a Philadelphia elementary school teacher for raping a family member for eight years.

According to police, 39-year-old Sumo Dukulah, a teacher at Leslie P. Hill Elementary School, began raping the family member when the child was 8-year-old. Police say the assaults continued for eight years until the child turned 16.

Authorities are not saying how Dukulah and the victim are related to protect the victim.

"There is concern that there may be other victims out there," says Tasha Jamerson, spokeswoman.

Dukulah was arrested on Thursday and charged with rape, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, unlawful contact, corrupting the morals of a minor, endangering the welfare of a child and related offenses. Bail was set a $500,000 and was ordered to surrender his passport.

Police are asking anyone with information on Dukulah to contact the Special Victims Unit at 215-685-3251, 215-685-3252 or 215-685-3253.
