Ann Percy

"People you don't expect to produce interesting art can indeed produce it. And in out of the way places and not situations where they're constantly seeing museums and seeing art," says curator Ann Percy.

Twenty-seven artists are on display from diverse backgrounds, like Bill Trayler, who was born on an Alabama plantation, and William Edmunson, a retired Nashville hospital worker.

"All of these artists are inspired by very individual impetuses from their own imaginations or memories, but also, from their own regional cultures," Percy adds.
