Police Search For Suspect That Robbed, Sexually Assaulted Woman In Northeast Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the person they believed robbed and sexually assaulted a female.

The incident occurred on April 8, 2013 around 3:45 a.m. on the 5700 block of Frankford Avenue in the Wissinoming section of the city.

According to police, a 19-year-old female was walking from the SEPTA Frankford Terminal when an unknown male approached her and attempted to talk to her.

Police say the suspect then punched her in the face, picked her up and carried her across the street behind a recreation center at Wissinoming Park.

The suspect then sexually assaulted and took $100 before fleeing, reports authorities.

The suspect has been described as a 6-foot- 25 to 35-year-old, black male with a dark complexion, medium build and beard. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with white designs or patches on the front and sleeve, blue jeans and glasses.
