Roofer Injured In Collapse In Mercer County

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) – A roof collapse at a home in Mercer County sent a roofer to the hospital Wednesday morning.

The roof collapse happened at about 9 a.m. at a home in the 1800 block of Greenwood Avenue in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.

According to investigators, a roofer was doing work on the home's roof when it gave way underneath him, sending him and the roofing materials he was working with into the home.

Rescue crews removed the unidentified 35-year-old roofer and he was taken to Capital Health Regional Hospital. He is undergoing surgery for a broken leg. He is in stable condition.

The incident remains under investigation.
