Jack McInerney is the guest on this week’s KYW Philly Soccer Show.

KYW’s Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Eli Pearlman-Storch talk with the forward about his strong start in the 2013 campaign.  We also discuss his partnership with fellow forward and team all-time leading scorer Sébastien Le Toux.

Eli and Greg then move on to some of the off-field drama the team is going through.  The Union are trying to offload two high-priced players: defender Bakary Soumare and, of course, Freddy Adu.

Adu is in Brazil ahead of a possible transfer to Bahia, with the Union getting a World Cup winner in return: Brazilian midfielder Kléberson.

Soumare, in a story first reported by the Philly Soccer Page, requested a trade, saying he did not feel he is getting a fair chance at playing time.

We then move on to the US National Team.  Two major World Cup qualifiers for the team: first against Costa Rica in Colorado on Friday, and then against archrival Mexico at the Estadio Azteca.

Head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has a number of key injuries and a very inexperienced defense to deal with, making the road to the 2014 World Cup that much harder.
