Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Car On Route 130 In Burlington County

DELRAN, N.J. (CBS) -- Police have identified a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car in Burlington County early Monday morning.

The incident happened at about 6:40 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Route 130 near Hartford Road in Delran, New Jersey.

According to investigators, 20-year-old Christal M. Smith, of Delran, was struck by a passing car as she attempted to cross Route 130.

Smith was taken to Lourdes Medical Center, but was later pronounced dead.

Authorities identified the driver as Jonathan J. Bozarth, of Delran. It was not immediately known if any charges would be filed.

The deadly incident remains under investigation.
