And he is the guest this week on the KYW Philly Soccer Show!
Philadelphia Union defender/midfielder Amobi Okugo joins KYW’s Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Eli Pearlman-Storch.
Okugo scored his first career MLS goal against Colorado on Sunday (photo below), and put in a stalwart performance on defense for the team, helping the Union to their first win of the year (see game story).
In today’s show, Okugo talks about the team’s season so far, about switching to defense from his natural midfield position, and he looks ahead to Saturday’s home game against the New England Revolution.

They also discuss the upcoming World Cup qualifiers involving the USA. After a gut-wrenching loss in Honduras, the road doesn’t get much easier. The Yanks have a home game against Costa Rica next Friday in Colorado, and then a trip to the Azteca Stadium to face dreaded rivals Mexico on March 26th.
