Police Seize More Than 2,000 Bags Of Heroin During Traffic Stop In Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE. (CBS) -- Police in Wilmington have arrested a woman after they say they found more than 2,000 bags of heroin during a traffic stop.

It happened shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Friday along the 2400 block of North West Street. Officers stopped a vehicle with extremely dark tint, and while talking with the driver, they observed what appeared to be a package of heroin inside.

22-year-old Shawnette Valentine was removed from the vehicle and taken into custody without incident.

Further investigation revealed that Valentine had 2,339 bags of heroin, valued at more than $31,000.

Valentine was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and numerous motor vehicle offenses.
