Police Investigate Crash Involving 3 Parked Cars, House In Delaware

DUNLEITH, Del. (CBS) – Police say a man alcohol and speeding caused a man to hit three parked cars in New Castle County.

The incident occurred in the 100 block of Bunche Boulevard in the community of Dunleith at 10:38 p.m. Saturday night.

According to police, 25-year-old Dajuan Cruz, of Newark, Delaware, was travelling southbound on Bunche Boulevard when he lost control of his vehichle, a 2001 Lincoln Continental, and struck a parked 2001 Dodge Intrepid.

Allegedly, Cruz left the scene of the accident and continued down Bunch Boulevard where he struck another parked vehicle, a 2001 Ford Explorer.

Police say Cruz's car continued down the sidewalk and struck a parked 2000 Chevy Silverado, causing the Chevy to hit a nearby house.

Authorities report that a building inspector deemed the house safe for habitation.

Cruz was taken to Christiana Hospital and treated for minor injuries and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to provide information at an accident, reckless driving and driving with a suspended license.
