Philadelphia Daycare Provider The Focus Of New Documentary

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Beyond Babysitting, a documentary promoting quality early childhood education, features a Philadelphia day care provider that got with the program.
The difference between child care and quality child care is immense, says Sharon Easterling, Executive Director of the Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children.
"The focus in the licensing system is in keeping kids safe, but if we're not infusing education into those child care centers we're missing this incredible opportunity."
Months were spent filming in Philadelphia's Brightside Academy, where new CEO Mark Kehoe saw an irreplaceable chance to ward off later trouble.
"We spend a lot of time, energy and money on the back end, trying to fix those problems, whereas if we do it right it gets so much easier downstream."
Beyond Babysitting screens tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. at the Bryn Mawr Film Institute.
