Police: Former Villanova Student Admitted To Videotaping 3 Women Without Their Knowledge

By Jenn Bernstein

RADNOR TWP., Pa. (CBS) – Police say 19-year-old Tyler Jones, a sophomore at Villanova University, has admitted to videotaping at least three women undressing in a bathroom and then uploaded them to a pornographic website called X-Hamster, from his dorm room on campus.

Police tell us one of the women was underage when he taped her.

"There was three videos, all uploaded within the same proximity of each other," said Radnor Township Police detective T.J. Schreiber. "There was over 8,000 views each video."

The investigation began when detective Schreiber received a call from a woman in New York City.

She said a friend had recognized her in a video on the site X-Hamster.

Detective Schreiber says once she saw it, she remembered the bathroom from a visit to Switzerland in 2012.

She told police Jones' family has a home there. She'd been visiting Tyler's brother.

The woman then told police she confronted Tyler, who admitted doing it using his iPhone.

"Through an investigation I was able to uncover the second and third girl," said Detective Schreiber.

He said the third girl was 17 when it was taped.

Jones admits all the videos were taken at the home in Switzerland, but were uploaded to the porn site from Tyler's dorm room on Villanova's Campus, according to police.

Police also say Jones has since taken a leave of absence from the school.

Villanova University confirms he is not currently enrolled.

In a statement a University spokesperson said:

"We hold our students to a high standard, and take any allegations of wrong doing seriously. Our students are held accountable for their actions based on our policies set forth by our Student Code of Conduct." – Jonathan Gust, University Spokesman
