Harry Gamble Glad His Son Is Back With The Eagles

By Spike Eskin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Harry Gamble was the president of the Philadelphia Eagles over two decades ago. On Wednesday, his son took another step in following his footsteps, as Tom Gamble became the Vice President of Player Personnel for the team.

"I think it's wonderful. I think it's a good move," Harry Gamble told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show on Friday. "I think Tom will bring something to the table that will help the club."

Tom Gamble has spent the last eight years with the San Francisco 49ers, and the last two as Director of Player Personnel of the team.

"[Tom] started out, really, selling tickets one semester that he had off from college, and did a good job. Norm Braman said, you know we ought to have Tom in our organization when this is all over. He sold quite a few tickets, group sales-type tickets. So that sort of sparked Norman's interest," Harry Gamble said.

"The big thing is he is very conscientious. He is a hard-worker and he has a great personality. He knows everybody in the league and everybody knows him, and I think he is well respected. All of this is very, very positive and hopefully it will continue here in Philadelphia."
