Would-Be Rittenhouse Bank Robber On The Run

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)  --  The FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department are searching for a suspect who attempted to rob a PNC Bank in Rittenhouse.

The attempted robbery took place Wednesday at 2:45 p.m. at the PNC Bank located at 1511 Walnut Street.

Police say the would-be-robber presented the teller with a threatening demand note, and after an unsuccessful attempt at obtaining money, the suspect fled on foot east on Walnut Street.

The suspect is described as a Black male, 50 years-of-age, 5'8", medium build, beard (salt and pepper in color), wearing a black coat with a black hooded sweatshirt underneath.
