East Passyunk Restaurant Week Kicks Off At End Of The Month

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - East Passyunk Avenue in South Philadelphia kicks off its first-ever Restaurant Week later this month.

East Passunk Avenue Restaurant Week takes place February 24th through March 2nd; and Renee Gilinger, Executive Director of the East Passyunk Business Improvement District points out those dates run through the weekend. "We have three courses for either $15, $25 or $35."

Gordon Dinnerman, owner of Birra Restaurant says he's excited about Restaurant Week on East Passyunk Avenue, especially after being named "food neighborhood of the year" by Zagat's.

"We have a lot to offer," says Dinnerman. "A lot of different restaurants, a lot of great food.  Some of the top restaurants in the city are down here."

And Lynn Rinaldi, chef/owner of Paradiso and Izumi restaurants says folks will not be disappointed.

"My expectations are really high," Rinaldi says. "We've already seen a bunch of reservations come in, so I think it's going to be a great week."

"It's 21 restaurants within about six blocks," says Gilinger. "So it's all easily parkable, we'll have valet parking every night during the event. We'll have a taxi stand between Tasker and Morris on East Passyunk. So, please come down, don't worry about parking, don't worry about getting home, it'll be easy!"
