Local Native Designer Has High Hopes For LA's Costume Designer Guild Awards

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - They help make Hollywood actors look their best - or in some cases their worst - for television and film. Costumers will be in the spotlight for their work at the 15th annual Costume Designers Guild Awards which takes place in LA on February 19th and one nominee has local ties.

The Capital One commercial where Vikings showcase their latest fashions on the runway is up for an award.

"Thor's Couture" collection is actually Roseanne Fiedler's designs. She went to Tyler School of Art and grew up in the Philadelphia area. Roseanne is one of three nominated in the Excellence In Commercial Costume Design category.

"I had some antler headpieces and some bone headpieces wrapped with leather and fur and then I had some metal chest pieces, made fur studded cuffs, distressed leather skirts, fur dresses, fur boots. It was dream job."

Roseanne won last year for her work on a Swiffer commercial featuring the cowgirl dust person. She has doing costumes design in TV, film and commercials since the early 90s.

She says the nomination was a surprise a nice that its coming from her fellow guild members.

The Capitol One commercial is gong up against Captain Morgan Black and Dos Equis: Most Interesting Man in the world commercials.

Other costume design award catergories include contemporary film, period film and contemporary television series.
