NEWARK, DE. (CBS) — State police say an elderly man was killed in a car accident Sunday morning in Newark, Delaware.

The crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m. along Ogletown Stanton Road.

Police say 88-year-old Charles Yenkevich was driving a vehicle that ran off the right side of the road and into a grassy area, coming to rest in some bushes.

Yenkevich was transported to Christiana Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities say Yenkevich was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
