Charges Filed In Fatal Auto Accident In Merchantville

MERCHANTVILLE, NJ (CBS) – Charges have been filed relating to a fatal accident that killed a mother and her daughter in Camden County last week (see previous story).

Keith Johnson, a 31-year-old from Pennsauken, was charged on Wednesday with two counts of Death by Auto and a count of Aggravated Assault. Johnson is still being treated at Cooper for injuries sustained during the crash but will be taken to Camden County jail upon release.

Police say Johnson's Durango was speeding when it crashed head-on into a Honda Odyssey on Jan. 31 at Chapel Avenue and Russell Avenue in Merchantville.

The accident took the lives of Anada Medina and her daughter, Stephanie Garcia, both of Cherry Hill. A 26-year-old woman who was a passenger in Johnson's car remains in the hospital.
