Runners Prepare To Strip Down, Run For A Good Cause

By Michelle Durham

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you are the open-minded sort who has always wanted to run in your underwear, there's an opportunity for that coming up this Saturday, February 9th, but you'd better sprint to the event's website. Slots for "Cupid's Undie Run" in Philadelphia are filling up fast.

Philadelphia Race Director Dan Frenia describes the event, which was held in other cities for the past few years, but it's the first year for us.

"Cupid's Undie Run is a fun run based on wearing your bedroom best around the city for about a one-mile run around Eastern State Penitentiary."

The money raised will go to the Children's Tumor Foundation to help find a cure for neurofibromatosis, a potentially life-threatening chromosome deficiency.

Frenia describes the dress code as, "anything goes as long as your parts are covered! Nothing's inappropriate. We are here for the kids -- the Children's Tumor Foundation. You'll see people wearing wings, heart boxer shorts and everything else. It's going to be a good time."
