Philabundance Asks Philadelphians To 'Spread The Love' By Donating PB&J

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philadelphia-based nonprofit and Subaru are teaming up to "spread the love" this Valentine's Day.

For every "like" Philabundance gets on Facebook from February 5th through 15th, Subaru will donate a jar of peanut butter or jelly to the food bank.

According to Philabundance, peanut butter's kid-friendly taste and high nutritional value puts it in high-demand, yet many in the Philadelphia area can't afford to buy it.

The nonprofit also says that they've experienced a 29-percent increase over the last year and a 98-percent increase over the last three years, making this year's effort to "spread the love" even more important.

And if that alone isn't enough to get you to help the cause, Philabundance will also be giving away a $500 airline voucher from US Airways of a 7-night stay at a Caribbean resort via Elite Island Resorts to one lucky person. The company says you have three ways to enter: by commenting on the Spread the Love post written by Chef Nathan Volz of 10 Arts with your favorite PB&J recipe on the Philabundance blog, by posting a photo of yourself with your PB&J sandwich on the Philabundance Facebook page, or by making a donation online at www.philabundance.org/spreadthelove.
