Penn Loses To Cornell On Late Jumper 71-69

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Galal Cancer hit a go-ahead jumper with 10 seconds left and Cornell held on to top Ivy League foe Pennsylvania 71-69 Saturday night.

After Miles Cartwright's 3-pointer put Penn (4-16, 1-2) ahead 69-67 with 2:15 remaining, Errick Peck hit two free throws and Cancer his jumper while the Quakers committed turnovers on their final three possessions.

Cancer scored nine points off the bench while Peck was 8-of-8 shooting en route to 20 bench points for the Big Red (10-11, 2-2).

Cartwright, the hero in Penn's 62-58 win over Columbia Friday, made just 3 of 12 from the field for eight points, but did dish nine assists with three turnovers.

The Quakers' leading scorer, Fran Dougherty, scored four points in his second game back following an eight-game absence due to mononucleosis.

Patrick Lucas-Perry hit 4 of 9 3-pointers and notched 14 points for Penn, which hit 12 of 24 3-pointers.
