Suspect Shot By Police During Pizza Shop Robbery
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police in Philadelphia have confirmed an officer-involved shooting occurred near Island Avenue and Elmwood Avenue on Friday afternoon.
Police responded to an armed robbery at the Little Caesar's at Island and Elm around 1:30 p.m. Once there, the suspect allegedly reached for something in his pocket and turned towards a Philadelphia police officer, causing the officer to discharge his weapon.
A bullet did strike the suspect, and he was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
