Second Arrest Made In West Philadelphia Tire Slashings

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police have made a second arrest in connection with a series of tire slashings in West Philadelphia earlier this month.

The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office has charged 36-year-old Aleze Lewis with criminal mischief for her involvement in the slashing of tires on 59 vehicles along Hazel and Chancellor Avenues in the early morning hours of January 7th (see related story).

Lewis was questioned by police just days after the tire slashings occurred when she stopped by Southwest Detectives and told investigators that she had information about the person responsible (see related story.)

Surveillance video captured a male and female walking down the street and at one point, the male is seen bending over and slashing several tires.

Police arrested 27-year-old Harry Gaines on January 17th (see related story). He faces charges of criminal conspiracy, criminal mischief and related offenses.

Lewis is being held on $280,000 bail. Her next court appearance is scheduled for February 8th.
